Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Coming (Only) to PS5 in 2023 – Marvel’s Wolverine Also Announced

Insomniac Games got two big announcements this morning. Not only is the studio releasing a sequel to the original Spider-Man on the PS4 – aptly dubbed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – Insomniac is even working on a brand new Marvel game starring one of the most iconic characters in the franchise: Wolverine.

Let’s start with Spider-Man 2 first. Set to be released exclusively on the PS5 in 2023 (sorry PS4 owners), both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be featured in the game. Yes, there will be two Spider-Mans in the sequel, so it’ll be interesting to see how Insomniac will incorporate both of them into the story as they face off against Venom.

And…that’s about it. Not much was revealed beyond the fact that Venom will be one of the villains in Spider-Man 2. It remains to be seen what other villains will make an appearance in the upcoming game, though it seems like Venom will be a big part of the narrative.

As for Marvel’s Wolverine, not much was revealed either. The announcement teaser is very brief, and it only confirms that the game is currently in development for the PS5. That’s right, both of these upcoming Insomniac titles will only be playable on the next-gen console.

Anyway, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to be released exclusively on the PS5 sometime in 2023. No release date was given for Marvel’s Wolverine, though we reckon it will only be released after Spider-Man 2.
