MacBook Air 2022 With M2 Chip Starts at RM5,499 in Malaysia

The just-announced MacBook Air 2022 just got its Malaysian pricing. Given that this is the sleekest, fastest MacBook Air yet – it’s powered by the new, blazing fast Apple M2 chip – it’s no surprise that it commands a premium price tag.

For the Malaysian market, the updated MacBook Air starts at RM5,499. For that kind of money, you’re getting the M2 chip with an 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB unified memory, and 256GB SSD storage. A tier up is the RM6,699 model, which offers a faster 10-core GPU and a 512GB SSD.

Naturally, the all-new MacBook Air retains its thin and light design. With a 11.3mm thin chassis, this is without a doubt a portable laptop. But how much does it weigh? Well, it tips the scales at only 1.2kg – this is a very much a lightweight laptop.

Aside from its portable nature, the new MacBook Air also gets a larger 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display – complete with a notch – a very respectable battery life of up to 18 hours, as well as up to 24GB of memory and 2TB SSD storage. Oh, the MagSafe charger makes a return too.

To recap, the MacBook Air 2022 starts at RM5,499 here in Malaysia, though it remains to be seen exactly when it will be available here. The M2 MacBook Air will continue to be sold alongside the (more affordable) M1-based version.
