Lenovo Offering Lifetime Access to Microsoft Office for IdeaPad & IdeaCentre Products

When you buy a new Windows machine, there’s a good chance it doesn’t come with Microsoft Office’s range of applications. Even if it does, you’d still have to activate it one way or another. Well, that’s not the case with Lenovo’s latest range of consumer laptops and AIO.

Thanks to Lenovo’s partnership with Microsoft, new IdeaPad and IdeaCentre products will come with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 pre-installed. Of course, these machines will have lifetime access to the full version of Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. However, only purchases made through Lenovo’s retail store will come with the software.

Nonetheless, considering the fact that Office Home & Student 2019 costs RM529 when purchased on its own, you’re getting good value for your money here. According to Lenovo, the 15-inch models of the IdeaPad C340, S340, S540, and L340 are confirmed to have the software bundled. If you want an AIO instead, the IdeaCentre A340 AIO is also included.

Out of all the products mentioned, the IdeaPad C340 is the most interesting one; it’s the only convertible in the list. It can be configured with a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS touch display, an Intel Core i5-8265U or i7-8565U processor paired with 8GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce MX230 GPU, a 128GB PCIe-based SSD, and a 1TB 5400rpm HDD.

Don’t fancy a convertible? Then you can consider the IdeaPad S340 or S540. Both laptops have a 15.6-inch 1080p display, a Core i5-8265U or i7-8565U processor with 8GB of RAM, as well as a 128GB SSD + 1TB 5400rpm HDD combo.

What differentiates these two laptops are the display and GPU options. The S540 comes with an IPS screen and an MX250 GPU, while the S340 is equipped with a non-IPS display and a slightly slower MX230 GPU.

And then we have the most affordable laptop, the IdeaPad L340. It can be equipped with a 15.6-inch 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080 TN display, a Core i3-8145U, i5-8265U, or i7-8565U processor paired with 8GB of RAM, a sole 128GB SSD storage (you can add an HDD or a bigger SSD), as well as two GPU options: an MX110 or MX230 GPU. Alternatively, you can just go with integrated graphics to lower the price.

Last but definitely not least is the IdeaCentre A340 AIO; it’s quite a sleek-looking machine. It features a 21.5-inch 1080p display, a Pentium Gold 5405U or Core i3-8145U processor paired with 4GB of RAM, and a 1TB 5400rpm HDD. Unfortunately, it can only be configured with Intel’s UHD Graphics 620; there’s no option for a dedicated GPU.

If you’re looking to get an affordable laptop that comes with Microsoft Office, you can’t go wrong with either one of these options – just make sure you add an SSD (if possible) for a more pleasant user experience. Here’s the price breakdown for all of the products above:

  • Lenovo IdeaPad C340 – from RM2,799
  • Lenovo IdeaPad S340 – from RM2,599
  • Lenovo IdeaPad S540 – from RM3,499
  • Lenovo IdeaPad L340 – from RM1,799
  • Lenovo IdeaCentre A340 AIO – from RM2,199

You can now purchase all of these Lenovo products at the company’s exclusive stores nationwide. Alternatively, they are also available online on Lenovo’s online store.
