Lenovo just revealed the Malaysian availability of the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro. Available in both 14-inch and 16-inch configurations, it’s a decent productivity laptop powered by AMD’s excellent Ryzen 5000 processors.
Let’s start with the higher-end offering of the two, the 16-inch IdeaPad 5 Pro. The sole model available on Lenovo’s Malaysian online store – which retails at RM4,699 – is packed with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor paired with 16GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, as well as a 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Aside from that, this configuration of the IdeaPad 5 Pro also has a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS screen with a reasonably fast 120Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate will be able to provide good motion clarity in fast-paced games, and the panel’s 16:10 aspect ratio is ideal for productivity tasks too.
As for the 14-inch IdeaPad 5 Pro, it is available in two variants locally. The RM3,429 base model (which is also customisable), features a Ryzen 5 5600U processor paired with 8GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, integrated AMD Radeon graphics, and a 14-inch 2240 x 1400 IPS screen with a standard 60Hz refresh rate.
A tier up is the Ryzen 7 5800U model, which features more RAM at 16GB, a faster 512GB SSD, as well as Nvidia’s beefier MX450 dedicated GPU. These upgrades drive up the price to RM4,399.
