Illegear just launched yet another laptop, but this time around, it’s a serious gaming machine. This is the Illegear Sapphire, and it’s touted by the company to be its most premium gaming laptop yet – it can be configured with an Intel Core i9-12900H or AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor with a fast Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU.
Of course, these hardware do not come cheap. The base model of the Sapphire is priced at RM9,799 (RM9,310 if you pay in cash), and for that kind of money, it features the aforementioned Ryzen 9 6900HX processor paired with 16GB of RAM, an RTX 3070 Ti GPU, and a 512GB SSD (free upgrade to 1TB until 22 August).
If you want to upgrade the GPU of the Sapphire to an RTX 3080 Ti, it’ll cost a cool…RM5,999. Swapping the CPU to an Intel Core i9-12900H processor, on the other hand, doesn’t cost quite at much at RM199. As for the display, the Sapphire comes with a 17-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS display with G-Sync support and a blazing fast 240Hz refresh rate.
Another interesting hardware of the Sapphire is its keyboard; more specifically, a Cherry MX mechanical keyboard. Naturally, it uses a low-profile design, and it’ll be interesting to see if it will be able to provide a superior typing experience compared to a regular laptop keyboard.
The Illegear Sapphire is now available for pre-order on Illegear’s online store from RM9,799; again, RM9,310 if you choose to pay in cash instead. You can also configure the gaming laptop with hardware of your choosing through the configurator, and it is expected to ship by the end of August 2022.
