Huawei Malaysia finally brought in the more affordable Huawei P50 to the local market. Given its more modest set of hardware, the P50 is quite a bit more affordable than its higher-end Pro counterpart.
Only one variant of the P50 is offered here in Malaysia. Sporting 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, this high-end phone costs RM2,999 on our shores. Early birds who pre-order the phone by 26 May will also get RM1,000 worth of freebies, including a Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick wireless earbuds.

Pricing aside, the P50 does have the same design language as its Pro sibling, though its list of hardware isn’t quite as high-end. Its display, for one, is just a regular 6.5-inch Full HD+ OLED flat panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. In comparison, the P50 Pro features a 120Hz dual-curve screen.
In the camera department, the P50 has a triple camera system. It consists of a 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide angle shooter, and a 12MP telephoto lens that can do up to 50x digital zoom. A reasonably good array of camera sensors.
Other specifications of the P50 include a 13MP selfie camera, 8GB of RAM, a 4,100mAh battery, an IP68 rating, and HarmonyOS 2 based on Android out of the box.

The Huawei P50 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 26 May 2022. Priced at RM2,999, you can get RM1,000 worth of freebies if you get the phone in the pre-order period.
