HP just launched its latest gaming laptop in Malaysia, the HP Omen 15. Compared to its predecessor, the new Omen 15 has a much more subdued, minimalist design that looks a lot more modern. On top of that, it also has a thinner chassis now for better portability.
Only one variant of the Omen 15 is available for the Malaysian market right now. Retailing at RM4,439, this model comes with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, an Intel Core i5-10300H processor paired with 8GB of 2933MHz DDR4 RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS screen with a conventional 60Hz refresh rate.
Now, it’s worth noting that there are more powerful variants of the Omen 15 with much beefier GPU options – up to an RTX 2070 Super – and even a blazing fast 300Hz screen. At the moment, only this one configuration of the gaming laptop is offered for the Malaysian market, though we wouldn’t be surprised if more variants are offered in the future.
Nonetheless, one of the best aspects of the Omen 15 has to be its much more understated design. There’s only a simple diamond logo on the gaming laptop’s lid, and measuring 22.5mm tall, it’s actually 11% slimmer than its predecessor. But weighing 2.36kg, it’s still quite a hefty machine.
We were told that the HP Omen 15 is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM4,439, though it’s not in stock yet on HP’s Malaysian online store at the time of writing. According to HP, a RM100 ewallet voucher will also be given out to buyers.
