Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Will Be Available Standalone for RM89 on 3 September

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was initially available as a free co-op online multiplayer for the main game, but come 3 September next month, Legends will be available as a standalone purchase. Of course, it will be available on both the PS5 and PS4.

Aside from this announcement, Sucker Punch also revealed a number of additions coming to Legends, including a new Rivals mode. This mode pits two teams of two against each other to defeat waves of enemies. Magatama will drop when you defeat enemies, which can then be spent to “harm the other team,” as Sucker Punch puts it.

Once you’ve spent a certain amount of Magatama, you will unlock the Final Stand waves. If you clear these before the opposing team does, you’ll win the match. You can take a look at the video above for a gameplay of Rivals, which does look quite fun.

Aside from the new mode, Legends will also introduce the Gear Mastery system. It’s an expansion of the current progression systems and rewards in Legends. Players with 110-level gear can bind it to a class and activate “Mastery Challenges.” This allows the gear’s Ki level to be upgraded to 120 and unlock a second perk slot.

According to Sucker Punch, “as you activate Mastery Challenges, you can also unlock a new Ability and new Techniques for each class.”

These additions to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be available from 3 September 2021 onwards; that’s also when it will be available as a standalone purchase for RM89 here in Malaysia. Those who have purchased Legends as a standalone release can also upgrade to Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut at any time for RM160 (PS4) or RM210 (PS5).
