Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Arriving 20 August – Coming to PS5 & PS4

There’s a new version of Ghost of Tsushima, and it will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Not only does Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut include a number of improvements, there is also a whole new island – with a new storyline – for players to explore.

The new area is Iki island, Tsushima’s neighbouring island which was also invaded by the Mongols. In the video below, you can see some sneak peeks of the new environment, which looks particularly stunning on the PS5.

Aside from the new island – which will also introduce new characters – the Director’s Cut will add some improvements to the PS5 version as well. These include support for dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60fps, implementation of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, faster load times, and get this: lip sync for Japanese voice-over.

If you already own the original PS4 version of Ghost of Tsushima, you can transfer your progress to the PS5 version of Director’s Cut once the game is released. You can also upgrade to the PS4 version of Director’s Cut for RM89. If you want to upgrade to the PS5 version instead, that will cost RM129.

Interestingly, if you bought the PS4 version of Director’s Cut after 20 August, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for RM50.

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut will be available on PS5 and PS4 next month on 20 August; it will include the original game alongside the new content. The PS5 version costs RM299, while the PS4 version is slightly cheaper at RM249. If you pre-order either version of the game on the PlayStation Store, you’ll have access to the PS4 version of the game immediately.
