Well, this is interesting: it appears 120fps support is finally coming to Genshin Impact. Now, you might think this would be for the PC platform, but curiously enough, the 120fps support…is actually for iOS.
This was quietly revealed through an update note for Version 2.2 of Genshin Impact on the Apple App Store. Aside from mentioning Thoma as a new playable character and the new Tsurumi Island, the note also describes a new function that adds “120fps option for some devices.”
Naturally, the 120fps mode is only for iOS devices with a matching screen refresh rate. These include the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, as well as the iPad Pro. Given the beefy GPU under the hood of these devices, we reckon they can really run Genshin Impact – which is actually quite a demanding mobile game – at 120fps.
Hopefully, this means that 120fps support is also coming to the PC version of Genshin Impact soon, and maybe even for the PlayStation 5. It’ll be interesting to see if the Android version will get 120fps support for the game too, given that even flagship Android phones still struggle to run the game at a consistent 60fps.
