Mihoyo just confirmed the arrival of Ganyu in Genshin Impact. The 5-star character is set to be available in the game this Tuesday on 12 January. The three other 4-star characters joining her banner have been confirmed as well, which include Xingqiu, Xiangling, and Noelle.
Just like Genshin Impact’s previous character event banners, the “drop rate” of Ganyu, Xingqiu, Xiangling, and Noelle will be increased. In the case of Ganyu, the first 5-star character you get will have a 50% chance to be her. If it’s not her, the next 5-star character you roll is guaranteed to be Ganyu.
Since Genshin Impact’s pity system ensures that you will get at least one 5-star character or weapon every 90 wishes, you will have to do 180 rolls for a guaranteed chance to get Ganyu.
Same goes for the 4-star characters, but given that there are three of them featured in the event banner, it’s a little bit more random. Basically, when you’re guaranteed a 4-star character from the banner, you will get either Xingqiu, Xiangling, or Noelle. If you’re aiming to get either one of these three characters, you will likely have to roll a few times.
Besides the new banner, the story quest for Ganyu, Sinae Unicornis Chapter, will also be added to Genshin Impact on 12 January. Completing the story quest will reward players with Primogems, adventure experience, and a number of other rewards. However, to unlock the story quest, you’d have to be at least Adventure Rank 40; you’re also required to complete the Archon Quest “A New Star Approaches.”
To recap, Ganyu’s Adrift in the Harbor banner will be released this Tuesday on 12 January. For us here in Malaysia, the banner will go live at 6PM alongside Ganyu’s Sinae Unicornis Chapter story quest.
