Garmin Venu Sq Lands in Malaysia From RM999; Fitness-Centric Smartwatch With GPS

Garmin just launched its latest smartwatch in Malaysia, the Venu Sq. As its name suggests, it retains many of the features found on the more expensive Venu smartwatch at a more affordable price point. The design has been tweaked too: the Venu Sq has a square screen instead of the Venu’s circular display.

Two variants of the Venu Sq are offered in Malaysia. The standard model retails at RM999, while the Venu Sq Music Edition costs RM1,250. The only difference between the two models is built-in storage; the latter can store music for offline listening with Bluetooth headphones.

Just like the regular Venu, the Venu Sq can detect up to 20 different workouts. These include running, yoga, swimming, cycling, aerobics, golf, and even weight training. Together with the built-in GPS, the Sq will be able to even more accurately track your activities, especially when it comes to running and cycling.

Other specifications of the Venu Sq include a 1.3-inch 240 x 240 touch-enabled LCD screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a fibre-reinforced polymer case, anodised aluminum bezels, a heart rate sensor, as well as the ability to measure blood oxygen level. Overall, features fit for a fitness-centric smartwatch.

The Garmin Venu Sq is now available for purchase in Malaysia. To recap, the standard model costs RM999, while the Venu Sq Music Edition goes for slightly more at RM1,250.
