Drop released more details on its upcoming MT2 keycap sets, and they seem quite promising. Not only are these keycaps said to offer the “sharpest, crispest legends,” they will be sold as in-stock products as well – a very enticing prospect in the custom keyboard hobby.
Judging by the MT2 keycaps shown below, the legends do look nice and sharp, though they don’t appear to be quite as thick as GMK’s legends. This is an important comparison, given that GMK keycaps are largely considered to be the gold standard.

Aside from that, the base kit of MT2 keycaps will be compatible with a wide variety of keyboard layouts too. They are also made from “high quality ABS plastic” that MT3 keycaps use, and interestingly enough, Drop is looking into releasing PBT options as well.
As mentioned, Drop said that MT2 sets will be offered as in-stock products, adding that it “can make sets quickly and efficiently at scale.” No word yet on exactly when MT2 keycaps will be released, though Drop said it is only “weeks away from shipping our first production keycaps.”
