COVID-19 vaccination rate is ramping up quite a bit in Malaysia, and in the near future, even those below 18 will be vaccinated. Of course, individuals in this age group with underlying medical conditions will be prioritised.
This was revealed by Khairy Jamaluddin, the coordinating minister for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme. According to him, those between the age of 12 to 17 with comorbidities will receive priority for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Once that’s done, those in the same age group with no medical issues will then receive their vaccination. The priority for this will be based on age de-escalation, as Khairy puts it.
An announcement will be made next week by the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) on how COVID-19 vaccination for adolescents will be implemented. These details should be posted on its Twitter account.
