Sony’s latest compact flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia 5 IV, is now available for pre-order in Malaysia. Not only is it a pocketable smartphone, it’s also quite a bit more affordable than its larger sibling (Xperia 1 IV) while improving upon its predecessor.
Only one variant of the Xperia 5 IV is offered in Malaysia. Sporting 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the premium phone is priced at RM4,899. To sweeten the deal, those who pre-order the device by 24 October will receive a Sony LinkBuds S (worth RM929) and a RM50 TNG credit.
Hardware wise, the Xperia 5 IV got a number of upgrades over last year’s model, though it’s not powered by the latest chipset. Instead, it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, along with a larger 5,000mAh battery; that’s a 500mAh improvement over the Xperia 5 III.
Other specifications of the Xperia 5 IV include a 6.1-inch 1080p OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (12MP primary + 12MP ultra-wide angle + 12MP telephoto), a 12MP selfie camera, IP65/IP68 dust and water resistance, as well as Android 12 out of the box.
The Sony Xperia 5 IV is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 24 October for RM4,899. To recap, every pre-order of the compact flagship phone will be bundled with a Sony LinkBuds S (worth RM929) and a RM50 TNG credit.
