Asus previously revealed that its next gaming smartphone, the Asus ROG Phone 7, will be introduced on 13 April next week. We were previously told that the phone – or phones, given that the ROG Phone series typically consists of several devices – is coming to Malaysia, and we now have a slightly more concrete local launch timeline.
According to our source, the ROG Phone 7 is expected to arrive in Malaysia sometime in May 2023 next month. This lines up with last year’s ROG Phone 6; although the global debut of the phone took place in July last year, it was only available for purchase in Malaysia the following month in August 2022.
At the moment, exact specifications of the ROG Phone 7 have not been revealed yet, though we reckon it will at least be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. There should be two devices too: a standard model and a higher-end variant, just like previous iterations of the ROG Phone series.
Of course, these are just educated guesses on our part. We’ll just have to wait until 13 April next month to find out just what the Asus ROG Phone 7 will bring to the table. If the teaser image is anything to go by, there’s a chance the gaming phone will be sporting a new design of sorts.
