Initially launched in Malaysia last month, Dell is currently offering a discount on the Alienware x15 R2 and x17 R2 on our shores. These are thin, premium gaming laptops with Intel’s 12th gen chips, so you do have to pay an equally premium price tag for them.
Let’s start with the more “affordable” gaming laptop of the two, the x15 R2. Starting at a cool RM10,799 (discounted from RM12,999), it features a Core i7-12700H processor paired with 16GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, a 15.6-inch 1080p display with a 165Hz refresh rate and G-Sync support, as well as a 512GB SSD.
Of course, with a 15.9mm thin chassis (16.3mm for the FHD model), this is really a slim gaming machine.
As for the larger x17 R2, it retails from RM11,599 (usually RM13,599). For that kind of money, it has the exact same hardware as the base model of the X15 R2 above, though it does come with a bigger 17.3-inch 1080p display with G-Sync support and a 165Hz refresh rate. Oh, it is also slightly thicker, measuring 20.9mm thin.
Do note that these are just the starting prices of the x15 R2 and x17 R2. You can configure the various hardware of the two gaming laptops through Dell’s Malaysian online store, such as the GPU (up to an RTX 3080 Ti), and even a blazing fast 360Hz FHD display.
