It looks like Samsung is set to launch another affordable 5G phone here in Malaysia. Aside from 5G connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy M14 5G also offers a large 6,000mAh battery and a 90Hz display – reasonably fast screen for a budget-friendly phone.
As usual, we were going through SIRIM’s database when we spotted the Galaxy M14 5G. It was registered under Samsung Malaysia with the model number SM-M146B/DSN just today on 7 April. Chances are, the Korean company is preparing to launch the affordable phone on our shores.
The Galaxy M14 5G is actually quite similar to the existing Galaxy A14 5G, which retails at RM949 in Malaysia. It has the same Exynos 1330 chipset, a 6.6-inch 2408 x 1080 PLS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (50MP primary + 2MP macro + 2MP depth), as well as a 13MP selfie camera. The only difference lies in the battery capacity: the M14 5G comes with the aforementioned 6,000mAh battery over the A14 5G’s 5,000mAh cell.
No word yet from Samsung Malaysia on the local availability of the Samsung Galaxy M14 5G. Given that it’s been certified by SIRIM already, we reckon the affordable 5G phone will be offered on our shores very soon.
