Acer’s Vero line of products have always focused on sustainability, and the Acer Aspire Vero 16 is the Taiwanese company’s latest product showcasing its green efforts. It was launched at CES 2024 in Las Vegas earlier this week, and we managed to catch the laptop in person at the ongoing Predator League 2024 in Manila, The Philippines.
What makes the Vero 16 particularly interesting is the percentage of its chassis that is made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic to reduce carbon dioxide emissions during production. Sitting at 60%, this amount of PCR plastic used in the Vero 16 is doubled from the original Aspire Vero which was launched back in 2021.
Other specifications of the Vero 16 include an OceanGlass touchpad made from ocean-bound plastic, Intel’s latest Core Ultra 7 chips, a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 display with a 16:10 aspect ratio – there’s also an option for a 1920 x 1200 touchscreen – 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM with support for up to 2TB dual PCIe Gen 4 SSD, and up to 10.5 hours of battery life.
While there’s no official confirmation that the Acer Aspire Vero 16 will be coming to Malaysia, we reckon it will be launched here in due time. After all, the previous Aspire Vero laptops are sold on our shores. As for pricing and availability in other markets, the Vero 16 will be sold in the US with a $749 (about RM3,480) starting price sometime in April 2024.
