Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has previewed the all-new electric C-Class, the first fully electric version of one of the brand’s best-selling series. Pre-booking is open now for the C 300 4MATIC electric AMG Line Plus.

The C 300 4MATIC electric produces 310kW (421hp) and 800Nm of torque, getting from 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 210km/h. A permanently excited synchronous motor on the rear axle is paired with an innovative two-speed transmission. First gear has a short 11:1 ratio for strong acceleration and urban efficiency, while second gear at 5:1 is tuned for motorway cruising.

A second motor on the front axle acts as a “boost” drive, engaged through a disconnect unit only when extra power or traction is needed, which Mercedes says cuts front axle losses by up to 90 percent when it is decoupled.

The 85kWh usable battery delivers up to 690km of WLTP range. The 800-volt architecture supports DC charging at up to 320kW, taking the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes, or adding up to 290km of range in 10 minutes. A 22kW on-board AC charger is also fitted, with a full charge from empty estimated at 4.5 hours.

The coupé-like fastback silhouette is capped off at the front by an illuminated grille with DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps with the brand’s star motif. The AMG Line Plus exterior adds 20-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels and a Night Package, while the rear carries four round, deep red star-design taillights. The wheelbase is 97mm longer than the combustion C-Class saloon at 2,962mm. Boot space is 470 litres, with a further 101 litres in the front boot.

Inside, the MBUX Hyperscreen spans the full width of the cabin at 39.1 inches, with independent brightness control for each display area and a camera-based blocking function that limits what the driver can see of the front passenger’s screen. The SKY CONTROL panoramic roof has nine independently switchable segments and 162 illuminated stars. The cabin also gets a Burmester 3D surround sound system, nappa leather sports steering wheel, black leather seats with red topstitching and red seat belts.

On the safety front, MB.DRIVE ASSIST and MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 360 are standard, supported by up to 27 cameras and sensors. The C-Class carries up to 11 airbags, including a front centre airbag as standard and an available knee airbag for the front passenger. A dashcam and GUARD 360° vehicle protection are also included in the vehicle price.

The Mercedes-Benz C 300 4MATIC electric AMG Line Plus is expected to launch early next year with an estimated price of RM360,888 for Malaysia. The Agility+ financing plan starts from an estimated RM3,988 per month, including a fifth year of extended limited warranty and four Compact Service Packages.
