Acer Announces Predator Atlas 7 Handheld and Project DualPlay Mini Concept at IFA 2026

Acer has announced the Predator Atlas 7 at its global press conference during IFA 2026 in Berlin. The Atlas 7 is a more compact 7-inch sibling to the recently announced Predator Atlas 8, alongside Project DualPlay Mini, a concept device that attempts to merge gaming handheld and mobile productivity into a single form factor.

The Predator Atlas 7 runs on up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor with up to Intel Arc B390 graphics, sharing the same chip architecture as the 8-inch model but trimmed down to a lighter and more pocketable package weighing under 750g with the 80Wh battery. The 7-inch FHD display runs at 120Hz with VRR support, 500 nits of peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC coating, and comes with a tempered glass screen protector included in the box.

Cooling is handled by the same dual-fan setup as the Atlas 8, pairing a precision metal Predator AeroBlade fan with 89 blades at 0.1mm thickness against a secondary plastic fan, with Vortex Flow internal channel tuning guiding hot air out more efficiently under load. The joystick options are quite interesting: the Atlas 7 offers a choice between standard Carbon Film analog sticks and TMR joysticks, the latter using tunneling magnetoresistance technology for zero dead zones and improved anti-drift performance.

Hall-effect analog triggers handle genres requiring more pressure range. A fingerprint reader is also built into the power button for Windows Hello login, and a dedicated PredatorSense button provides quick access to system monitoring, performance modes and RGB lighting settings.

In terms of connectivity, the Atlas 7 sports dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a UHS-II microSD slot, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Audio is handled by dual 2W speakers with DTS:X Ultra and Acer PurifiedVoice noise reduction on the dual microphones. The device ships with two months of Xbox Game Pass Premium and two months of PC Game Pass.

Project DualPlay Mini, on the other hand, is presented as a concept rather than a confirmed product, at least for now. The 8-inch device features a flip-and-swivel design that converts between a gaming handheld mode and a mini-laptop mode with a backlit physical keyboard, with the ability to connect to an external display for productivity use.

It runs the same dual-fan cooling architecture as the Atlas 8 and is powered by Intel, though specific chip details were not disclosed. The back cover features the words Acer 50 since 1976 embedded in Morse code to mark the brand’s 50th anniversary.

The Predator Atlas 7 is set to release in North America from Q4 2026 and in EMEA from November 2026, with local pricingx yet been confirmed. The Project DualPlay Mini remains a concept with no launch timeline.
