POCO has just launched the F9 Series in Malaysia, introducing the F9 Ultra and F9 Pro as the brand’s most performance-focused smartphones to date, with a particular emphasis on gaming, display and audio quality.

The F9 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 while the Pro model gets the V series variant of the chipset. A dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset debuts in the F Series on both models, enabling Smart Frame Rate of up to 185 FPS, natively supported across more than 20 game titles.
AI Super Resolution runs simultaneously with Smart Frame Rate for sharper in-game visuals alongside smoother motion. Touch response is handled by a 4,800Hz instant touch sampling rate in Game Turbo mode and a 200Hz gyro sampling rate. The POCO 3D IceLoop cooling system manages thermals during sustained gaming sessions.
The displays are 185Hz POCO HyperRGB AMOLED panels across both models, using a full RGB subpixel structure for richer colour at lower power consumption. The F9 Ultra runs a 6.9-inch screen while the F9 Pro is a more compact 6.59 inches.

Both displays hit up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and 10,000 nits for HDR content. Xiaomi Vision Care with TÜV Rheinland Quadruple Eye Care certification also makes its POCO debut here. The F9 Ultra adds a dynamic RGB light strip on the rear for notification and gaming effects, while the F9 Pro’s Aurora Green variant features a full-panel glow-in-the-dark back cover.
Audio is handled through a partnership with Bose. The F9 Ultra pairs dual symmetrical 1115D stereo speakers with an independent 1620 subwoofer for a 2.1-channel setup, while the F9 Pro uses dual 1115F super-linear stereo speakers with a Sealed Cavity Design. Both models offer Dynamic and Balanced sound profiles tuned with Bose, alongside a Game Audio mode that enhances footstep detection and directional audio for competitive gaming, arriving via OTA from September 2026.

The F9 Ultra carries an 8,050mAh silicon-carbon battery rated for two days of use, while the F9 Pro houses a 6,330mAh cell for all-day endurance. Both support 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge alongside 27W wired and 22.5W wireless reverse charging.
On the camera side, both models debut POCO’s first 200MP main camera with OIS and a 32MP front camera. The F9 Ultra adds a 5x periscope telephoto with 10x lossless and 20x AI Ultra Zoom, while the F9 Pro carries a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto with a minimum focus distance of 10cm for close-up shots. Both support 4K Live Cinematography for automated focal transitions in video.
A launch promotion runs from 1 to 16 September 2026. The F9 Ultra is priced at RM3,299 for 12GB and 256GB, RM3,699 for 16GB and 512GB and RM4,399 for 16GB and 1TB, with early bird buyers receiving a free POCO Pad C1.

The F9 Pro starts at RM2,799 for 12GB and 256GB and RM3,099 for 12GB and 512GB, with early bird buyers receiving a free Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro. Both models include two years of warranty, six-month screen replacement coverage and three months each of Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium as part of the early bird bundle.
