Acer Launches Predator Helios 18 AI in Malaysia, Starts From RM17,999

Acer Malaysia has launched the Predator Helios 18 AI, its flagship gaming laptop first introduced at Computex, with availability now at authorised Acer resellers and the Acer eStore in two configurations.

The Helios 18 AI is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor with a max turbo frequency of up to 5.5GHz, paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. Memory comes standard at up to 48GB of dual-channel DDR5, expandable to 256GB, alongside a 1TB SSD that can be upgraded up to 6TB.

The 18-inch display is a WQUXGA 4K Mini LED panel with full DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, peaking at 1,000 nits in HDR mode and running at a 120Hz refresh rate.

Cooling is handled by Acer’s 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D Fans, using 0.05mm metal blades with 100 blades per fan and a dynamically adaptive design that adjusts airflow based on RPM, contributing to a claimed 20% increase in cooling efficiency over the previous generation. Vector heat pipes and liquid metal thermal grease round out the thermal architecture.

As for audio, Predator Vox is Acer’s proprietary six-speaker system designed for high-fidelity near-field sound with improved spatial directionality and acoustic clarity. The keyboard uses Predator MagKey 4.0 mechanical switches with customisable magnetic actuation, paired with per-key RGB lighting alongside RGB accents across the cover logo, MilkyWay lighting bar and InfiniteRing elements.

Connectivity is covered by Killer DoubleShot Pro, combining Wi-Fi 7 with a dedicated Ethernet port to prioritise network traffic, alongside dual Thunderbolt 5 ports for high-bandwidth data transfer and multi-device connectivity.

The RTX 5090 variant with 48GB RAM is priced at RM19,999, while the RTX 5080 variant with 36GB RAM comes in at RM17,999. Customers who purchase either variant before 12 July 2026 receive a complimentary PM161Q portable monitor worth RM349 while stocks last.

Alongside the laptop, Acer Malaysia also introduced two new portable display accessories. The PM191Q E is billed as Malaysia’s first 18.5-inch FHD IPS portable monitor, supporting refresh rate overclocking up to 100Hz and a 178-degree viewing angle, with built-in speakers and a single USB-C cable handling both power and video. It weighs 1.13kg and includes a built-in tiltable stand with VESA mount support.

Complementing it is the AH101 portable monitor stand, offering tilt, swivel and height adjustment with support for both 75x75mm and 100x100mm VESA mounts as well as a quarter-inch thread interface.

The PM191Q E is priced at RM469 and the AH101 stand at RM99. Both accessories go on sale from 6 July 2026. An early-bird promotion running from 6 to 12 July 2026 drops the PM191Q E to RM369, with the AH101 stand available as a purchase-with-purchase add-on at RM59 while stocks last.
