SAIC Motor Malaysia has officially pulled back the covers on the local specifications for the all-new MG ZS at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026), marking a fresh push into the country’s highly competitive compact SUV market.

Showcased ahead of its public days from June 12 to 21 at MITEC, the newly upsized B-segment contender is now open for nationwide bookings. The initial rollout features two distinct variants, starting with the flagship LUX Hybrid+, while a pure-petrol LUX Turbo variant is slated to join the local lineup at a later date.
Visually, the new MG ZS establishes a far more aggressive road presence, featuring a bold front fascia highlighted by striking Connected Hunter Eyes headlights, dark grille accents, crisp aerodynamic body lines, a rear spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Stepping into the cabin reveals a significantly enlarged footprint, with the vehicle claiming the title of the largest B-segment SUV in its class by measuring 4,430mm in length and 1,818mm in width. The expanded dimensions yield a heavily optimized interior layout with premium touchpoints, greater headroom, and enhanced legroom alongside 443 litres of boot space, which expands dynamically to 1,457 litres with the rear seats folded flat. Drivers are greeted by a 12.3-inch floating infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.
Performance remains a headline focal point for the early-launching MG ZS Hybrid+, which marries a 1.83kWh high-capacity NCM battery with a 100kW electric motor and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. Pumping out a combined maximum output of 158kW (196 PS) and 465Nm of torque through a 3-speed Hybrid Transmission, the setup secures its spot as the fastest B-segment hybrid SUV on the market with a 0–100km/h sprint time of just 8.7 seconds. The refined powertrain mimics the immediate responsiveness of a pure EV, yielding a total cruising range of up to 870km on a standard 41-litre fuel tank.

Safety and ecosystem connectivity are accounted for with the MG PILOT Driver Safety Technology package, which deploys an extensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS 2.5) to maximize on-road awareness. This hardware works in tandem with the brand’s MG iSMART telematics application, enabling owners to monitor diagnostics or remotely control functions like keyless entry directly from their smartphones.
Offered in red, silver, black, and white over a sleek, all-black cabin, early bird bookings are now open for an RM99 fee, carrying an introductory RM3,000 cash rebate alongside a complimentary three-year scheduled maintenance package ahead of the final official launch.
