Honda Malaysia Launches All-New Prelude at KLIMS 2026, Priced at RM278,000

Honda Malaysia has officially launched the all-new sixth-generation Prelude at KLIMS 2026, bringing back one of its most iconic nameplates at RM278,000 on-the-road without insurance.

The Prelude is powered by Honda’s 2.0-litre e:HEV hybrid powertrain producing 184PS and 315Nm of torque, the same unit found in the Civic e:HEV. Making its Malaysian debut here is S+ Shift Technology, a motor-driven system that precisely controls engine RPM during acceleration and deceleration to simulate a sharper gear-shifting feel. It works in tandem with Active Sound Control and dynamic Power Meter displays to create a more engaging driving experience than a conventional hybrid setup would typically offer.

Three drive modes are available: Sport for sharper handling and stability, GT for a more relaxed long-distance character, and Comfort for lighter steering and smoother power delivery. An Individual mode lets drivers customise the powertrain, steering, suspension, meter display and engine sound independently. A Coasting Control Operation feature, making its Honda model debut here, allows the car to decelerate smoothly without the driver needing to constantly switch between the brake and accelerator.

Chassis technology is borrowed from the Civic Type R, including a dual-axis strut front suspension and Adaptive Damper System. Agile Handling Assist is also on board for improved stability during cornering and obstacle avoidance.

The exterior draws on Honda’s Unlimited Glide design concept, featuring a sleek fastback silhouette with flush door handles, a black chrome grille, LED headlights, LED rear combi lights with a red lens and subtle blue accents on the front and rear bumpers. The 19-inch aluminium wheels house blue Brembo brake callipers. A glass-print radio antenna integrated into the rear glass maintains the uninterrupted roofline.

Inside, a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system with Google Built-in handles connectivity via Google Assistant, Maps and Play. A Bose Premium Sound System handles audio duties, and Honda SENSING comes as standard. Cargo capacity is practical enough to fit two medium-sized suitcases.
