State of Play June 2026: The Big Announcements and Trailers

PlayStation’s June 2026 State of Play ran for over 60 minutes, packing in new reveals, release dates and gameplay across both 2026 and 2027. Here is everything announced.
God of War Laufey
The show’s closing reveal was the biggest of the night. God of War Laufey is the next mainline entry in the series, following Faye (Kratos’ wife as shown in previous titles) as she fights through the afterlife of the gods to save those she love. No release date was announced, with the game confirmed for PS5.
Marvel’s Wolverine
The show opened with a substantial new gameplay look at Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine, showcasing Logan’s ferocious combat alongside a reveal of mutant task force Team X, which includes telekinetic Jean Grey. The game launches on 15 September.
Until Dawn 2
Firesprite Games revealed Until Dawn 2, a standalone sequel set on an abandoned tropical island where a crew of ghost hunters arrive for their TV network-funded debut. A new cast, fresh setting and the butterfly effect decision system all return, alongside Peter Stormare reprising his role as Dr Hill. The game is coming to PS5 in 2027.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog announced a 12 February 2027 release date for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, with a new trailer revisiting iconic locations including Peru’s Lost Valley alongside familiar faces from the series.
Control Resonant
Remedy confirmed Control Resonant launches on 24 September, sharing a new story trailer showing Dylan navigating a paranatural Manhattan with his shapeshifting weapon the Aberrant, alongside the confirmed return of Jesse Faden.
Silent Hill: Townfall
Silent Hill: Townfall got a release date of 24 September, with a new trailer introducing character Zoe and a terrifying new creature stalking the Otherworld. Pre-orders are now open.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom confirmed Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches 25 September on PS5, with a demo available now covering roughly 30 minutes of early gameplay including parrying, deflecting and the Oni Armament system.
Dune: Awakening
The open world survival game set on Arrakis is coming to PS5 on 22 September. This version includes a new single-player mode and a new chapter in the cinematic storyline alongside additional content and improvements over the PC release.
PlayStation Plus
Runescape: Dragonwilds is coming to PS5 as a day one Game Catalog title for Extra and Deluxe members. Premium members can also look forward to Gitaroo Man later this month, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy in July and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in August.
Several other titles such as Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, No Rest for the Wicked and more were also showcased during the stream.
