Acer has announced the Predator Atlas 8, its first gaming handheld, powered by up to the new Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor with Intel Arc B390 graphics. The device is set for availability in North America, EMEA and Australia from October 2026, with local availability and pricing yet to be confirmed.

The Atlas 8 is built around an 8-inch WUXGA 1920×1200 IPS-level touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of peak brightness, Variable Refresh Rate support and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC coating for scratch resistance and glare reduction, and supports 10-point multi-touch input.
On the performance side, the Intel Arc B390 graphics bring ray tracing support and Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling to the handheld, aimed at maintaining smooth frame rates under heavy GPU workloads. Battery options go up to 80Wh, paired with Intel Endurance Gaming technology that manages frame rate and power draw for longer sessions away from a charger. The device weighs under 810g with the 80Wh battery.

Cooling is handled by a dual-fan setup debuting what Acer claims is the first metal fan in a gaming handheld. The precision Predator AeroBlade metal fan features 89 blades at 0.1mm thickness, delivering up to a 10% increase in airflow over a conventional plastic fan. A second plastic fan works alongside it, with Vortex Flow internal channel tuning guiding hot air out of the chassis more efficiently under load.
The handheld’s ontrols are built around customisable ergonomics for extended play. Full-size analog sticks are paired with dual-mode triggers that can switch between micro-switch mode for instant click response in shooters and Hall-effect analog mode for racing and flight simulation titles. L and R macro buttons are also included alongside a dedicated PredatorSense button for quick in-game adjustments.

PredatorSense, a familiar sight in Predator laptops, makes its handheld debut here, offering live system monitoring, performance mode switching, RGB lighting customisation and gameplay settings in one place. Connectivity covers dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a UHS-II microSD card reader, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Audio is handled by dual 2W speakers with DTS:X Ultra and Acer PurifiedVoice noise reduction on the dual microphones.
The device ships with Windows 11 Home, two months of Xbox Game Pass Premium and three months of PC Game Pass.
