Perodua Officially Launches Perodua Traz, a B-Segment 5-Seater SUV Priced from RM76,100

Perodua has officially launched the Perodua Traz, a B-segment 5-seater SUV designed specifically for the Malaysian market, with prices starting from RM76,100. According to Perodua, the new SUV is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder 2NR-VE engine paired with a D-CVT transmission, producing around 105 hp and 138 Nm of torque.

In terms of interior design, the Perodua Traz comes with a 471-litre cargo boot, offering flexibility for daily use and family travel.

On the safety front, the Traz is equipped with an active safety system engineered to respond to real-time driving conditions. It is divided into three core components:

#1 Advanced Safety Assist (A.S.A)

This system focuses on collision prevention in urban and congested environments, and includes:

Pre-Collision Warning & Braking – Detects the risk of a frontal collision and automatically applies braking if the driver does not respond.
Front Departure Alert – Provides an audible alert when the vehicle in front starts moving.
Pedal Misoperation Control – Limits engine power if the accelerator is accidentally pressed when facing a wall or obstacle.

#2 Driving Assist

Designed to enhance stability and driver awareness on highways:

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) & Prevent (LDP) – Monitors lane markings and provides steering assistance if the vehicle drifts out of its lane without signaling.
Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) – Detects vehicles in the driver’s blind spots to ensure safer lane changes.

#3 Parking Assist

Makes maneuvering in tight spaces easier through sensor and visual technology:

360° Panoramic View Monitor – Provides a top-down view around the vehicle (available on selected variants).
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – Warns the driver if vehicles are crossing behind while reversing.

Inside the cabin, the model is equipped with a 4.2-inch TFT display, along with a 9-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features rear digital air-conditioning controls for the H variant, button-and-dial controls for the X variant, as well as USB-C and USB-A ports for user convenience.

For buyers who prioritise comfort and a premium feel, the Perodua Traz H variant offers additional features that enhance exclusivity. These include LED fog lamps for improved visibility in poor weather and a Welcome Lamp that lights up as the driver approaches the vehicle.

In terms of convenience, the H variant is also equipped with a Power Back Door with Motion Sensing for hands-free cargo access, Smart Entry, and a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) for added safety and journey documentation.

The Perodua Traz is available in three main variants:

Perodua Traz 1.5 X – RM76,100
Perodua Traz 1.5 H – RM81,100
Perodua Traz 1.5 H 2T – RM82,000

In addition, the Perodua Traz is offered in five colour options: Cranberry Red, Electric Blue with Black Roof, Glittering Silver, Ivory White, and Granite Grey. This B-segment SUV is expected to begin deliveries to customers in Peninsular Malaysia immediately, with Perodua targeting sales of 1,900 units per month.

With its combination of modern technology, comprehensive safety features, and a spacious cabin, the Perodua Traz is positioned as a practical alternative between the Perodua Ativa and other B-segment SUVs in the market. It is well-suited for urban users who value fuel efficiency without compromising on comfort and safety.
