Smart #5 Electric SUV Now Open for Booking in Malaysia

After months of anticipation, Smart Malaysia, through Pro-Net, has officially opened bookings for the new Smart #5 electric SUV. Interested buyers can now secure a unit with a RM2,000 booking fee, signaling that the model’s local launch is just around the corner.

The Smart #5 marks the brand’s third model in Malaysia, following the Smart #1 and Smart #3. Design-wise, it takes a new direction with a boxier, more rugged silhouette, reminiscent of the original Smart DNA, and stands out from the sleeker designs of its predecessors.

Under the hood, the Smart #5 is the first Smart model to feature an 800V charging architecture, enabling 10–80% charging in just 15 minutes, despite packing a 100kWh battery capable of over 500km range per charge.

For performance enthusiasts, the Smart #5 Brabus edition offers all-wheel drive and accelerates from 0–100km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The Brabus variant also features a smaller frunk (front trunk) compared to the Premium version due to its dual-motor setup.

While the Smart #1 sits in the hatchback category and the Smart #3 targets coupe crossover buyers, the Smart #5 aims squarely at D-segment electric SUVs — competing with models such as the Volvo EX90, Tesla Model Y, and Kia EV9.

Two trims will be offered in Malaysia – Premium and Brabus, both designed to deliver performance, luxury, and cutting-edge EV technology. Malaysian customers can book the Smart #5 either through the Hello Smart app or by visiting any authorized Smart dealership nationwide.
