Honor Becomes First Smartphone Brand With MyDigital ID App Pre-Installed
September 24, 2025 AF

Honor Malaysia today has officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MyDigital ID, making it the first smartphone brand to support the government’s national digital identity initiative. As part of this partnership, the MyDigital ID app will be pre-installed on upcoming Honor devices, starting with the newly launched Honor X9d 5G.

This integration aims to simplify access for Malaysians, allowing them to register biometrics directly through the app during setup, enabling seamless digital authentication across government and private services.

The MyDigital ID initiative is a key part of Malaysia’s digital transformation agenda, with the government targeting 15 million citizens to register by the end of this year. By embedding the app natively, Honor and MyDigital hope to reduce friction for users, improve security, and minimize the risk of fraud when accessing digital services.

Honor says it is proud to be the first smartphone maker to support the government’s efforts, reinforcing its commitment to open collaboration and creating shared-value solutions. Looking ahead, both parties expressed interest in expanding this cooperation across other connected devices and platforms, ensuring that Malaysians have a smooth and secure digital identity experience.
