Following its initial reveal earlier this month, Proton has officially launched the All-New Proton X50 in Malaysia. With over 140,000 units sold since its debut, the X50 continues to be the country’s best-selling B-segment SUV for five years running. This latest iteration brings a host of new upgrades inside and out, with prices starting at RM89,800.
The All-New X50 introduces a fresh exterior and interior redesign, along with an upgraded ADAS safety suite and a larger 14.6-inch infotainment display. The system now supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and includes an industry-first built-in Bahasa Melayu voice command support. Drivers can issue simple voice commands like “Hi Proton, buka tingkap” or “Arah ke KLCC” for hands-free control of the car’s features and navigation.
Performance-wise, the SUV is powered by a new 1.5TD i-GT engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering 133 kW and 290 Nm of torque. The new setup brings the 0–100 km/h time down to 7.6 seconds, slightly quicker than the previous model. Fuel efficiency has also been improved by 4.7%, offering a better blend of performance and practicality for everyday drivers.
Available in Teal Bayou Green, Snow White, Passion Red, Jet Grey, and Armour Silver, the All-New X50 comes in three variants: Executive, Premium, and Flagship. The Executive variant forms the entry point, while the Premium model upgrades to 18-inch wheels, a powered tailgate, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree HD camera. The range-topping Flagship variant adds sportier design elements, a wireless charging pad, semi-transparent sun visors, and the Auto Park Assist feature for added convenience.
Each new Proton X50 purchase comes with the brand’s Standard Package, which includes a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and six complimentary labour services. Proton is also including a free 5-year data package with 2GB of monthly quota, double the previous offering.
To celebrate the launch, Proton is offering a limited-time GEMPAK! Deal for the first 10,000 bookings registered before 31 October 2025. This deal includes a RM4,000 rebate and other promotional perks. Customers can also enjoy financing options with interest rates as low as 2.35% for a 5-year plan, and 2.38% for a 7-year plan, plus up to RM2,000 in trade-in support for existing car owners.
Those opting for the updated Proton Insurance Program will receive additional coverage, including Special Perils protection, child seat coverage of up to RM500, and personal accident protection of up to RM15,000 per passenger. This is in addition to existing benefits such as agreed value protection for up to 12 years, betterment cost waivers, all-driver coverage, key and flood replacement coverage, and 24/7 roadside assistance with towing.
The All-New Proton X50 is available in three variants: Executive, Premium, and Flagship. The base X50 1.5TD Executive is priced at RM89,800, while the mid-range X50 1.5TD Premium comes in at RM101,800. Those looking for the fully loaded version can opt for the X50 1.5TD Flagship, which is priced at RM113,800.
