PlayStation’s New Prism Collection Brings Retro Translucent Designs to the PS5

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced the Prism Collection for the PlayStation 5 ecosystem, channeling late ’90s nostalgia with a modern translucent aesthetic.

Designed by Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish team to offer players a glimpse into the internal craftsmanship of the hardware, the lineup comes in three glossy finishes: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray.

The Prism Collection DualSense wireless controllers feature a clear high-gloss finish across the back panel that reveals the inner components and haptic tech. To balance the see-through look, Sony opted for a metallic center panel that creates a sharp visual contrast against the console’s industrial design.

Each color option brings its own personality. Flare Orange subtly takes on a rosy hue where the materials overlap, Emerald Green gains extra visual depth through its transparency, and Graphite Gray offers a cool-toned storm gray aesthetic. In Malaysia, the DualSense controller retails for RM419.

Matching PlayStation 5 Console Covers are also joining the drop, featuring fully translucent panels with a high-gloss finish that complement the new controllers across all three shades. These covers will be distributed in limited quantities through selected local retailers, priced at RM369 in Malaysia.

The Prism Collection will officially launch on 4 February 2027, though local stock availability and final retail pricing may vary across participating authorized dealers and Sony Store outlets.
