Following the release of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip, Apple has just announced the brand-new PROLED XDR display MacBook Pros, available in 14-inch and 16-inch variants and either M5 Pro or M5 Max silicon.

The new PROLED XDR display sports a tandem OLED panel that hits up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR and SDR brightness with a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio. It supports both P3 and Adobe RGB color gamuts, alongside new reference modes like DICOM for medical imaging and genlock synchronization for camera-matched virtual production workflows.

The display also gains Multi-Touch capabilities, allowing creative applications like Pixelmator Pro, Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro to be controlled directly on screen via Apple Creator Studio.

Under the hood, the notebooks are driven by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, with support for up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of storage. The graphics system features dynamic caching and neural accelerators on each GPU core to drive major speedups in software like Blender, Unreal Engine, and LLM processing.

Audio receives a redesign via a six-speaker system offering 50 percent deeper bass, custom sound-dispersion tweeters, and a new dedicated audio tuning mode for closed-lid use when connected to an external monitor.

Connectivity is powered by three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6. Depending on the chip configuration, the laptop can drive up to three external displays on M5 Pro or up to four on M5 Max over Thunderbolt 5.

Running on macOS 27, the machine benefits from refined UI options, faster local file sharing via AirDrop, and an overhauled Spotlight search index.

Local pricing in Malaysia starts at RM11,999 for the 14-inch model with M5 Pro (RM11,399 education) and RM14,499 for the 16-inch M5 Pro (RM13,599 education). Choosing the top-tier M5 Max starts at RM19,299 for the 14-inch variant (RM17,999 education) and RM20,499 for the 16-inch variant (RM19,099 education).
