God of War Laufey Launches 16 February 2027, Pre-Orders Now Open with New Combat Footage

Santa Monica Studio has confirmed that God of War Laufey will launch on PlayStation 5 on 16 February 2027, with pre-orders now live on the PlayStation Store and at participating retailers.

Alongside the date confirmation, the studio has revealed new gameplay footage showcasing main character Faye’s combat, centred around a brand-new weapon called the Serpent Bow.

The enchanted bow takes the form of a serpent and supports two distinct firing modes. Holding down the aim trigger fully puts Faye into a precision aim stance with increased draw distance, allowing players to target specific points on enemies to impair their movement or attack capabilities before following up with melee. Holding the trigger half-way enters a hip-fire stance for a more mobile, close-range cluster of arrows.

The bow can also stack up to five charged arrows for a powerful volley, tying into Phranque’s ability to launch enemies airborne. A variety of arrow types are available alongside two fire modes, covering rapid fire, explosive and multi-target options, with Serpent Scales that change both the weapon’s appearance and its specialised perks.

Beyond the bow, Faye’s loadout supports broader customisation through armour sets, a blade, scales and catalysts, the latter being powerful artefacts that channel the magic of the Everywhen with varying effects.

Pre-orders come with the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves cosmetic appearance and an in-game resource pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition expands on this with the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, an in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the official digital soundtrack.
