HoYoverse, known for games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, have officially debuted a new title called Nodusfall during Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live.
The new game is a co-op dark fantasy action RPG that marks a significant stylistic departure from the studio’s signature cel-shaded anime titles. Built using Unreal Engine 5 rather than Unity, the game adopts a realistic art style and grounded combat mechanics that is more reminiscent to games like Monster Hunter and Elden Ring.
The narrative takes place in a world where divine authority has collapsed, casting players as ‘Weavers’ who wield remnant divinity to confront corruption and restore balance against the Dreadnodi, a mysterious force of corrupted mythical entities including giant, titan-like beings and dragons. The game’s setting draws on a mix of global mythological traditions, spanning a continent that unfolds new ecologies, regions, and cultures over the course of the story.

Based on the reveal trailer and info from the game’s official website, Nodusfall focuses heavily on team-based co-op action, requiring squads of Weavers to coordinate tactics and apply sustained pressure on towering mythic beings until they expose weaknesses for a finishing blow.
Players can customize their approach using a variety of Style and Skill combinations alongside traditional medieval weapons like greatswords, swords, and bows, augmented by supernatural thread-like abilities used to grapple, close distances, and coordinate group assaults. Defeating these formidable creatures yields resources to unlock new weapons and skills, fueling further build progression.

Aside from the above, Hoyoverse have yet to announce a release date, available platforms and whether the game will be free-to-play or gacha like its previous titles.
