Reveal Lens: Malaysian AI Badminton Review System Goes International

Reveal Lens, a Malaysian-developed AI-powered instant review system for disputed badminton line calls, has made its international debut after being deployed at the Singapore International Challenge 2026 from 18 to 23 August.

Developed by Revealtek Sdn Bhd and approved by the Badminton World Federation, Reveal Lens is one of only four BWF-approved instant review systems in the world and the first of its kind purpose-built for badminton line call disputes. The Singapore tournament marks the system’s first deployment outside Malaysia, following several local tournament appearances.
The technology functions similarly to VAR in football or the Hawk-Eye system in tennis but goes a step further by delivering an AI-calculated decision rather than simply showing a video replay for officials to interpret. The system is also designed for practical deployment, using a wireless setup that can be installed within two hours, a significant advantage over more infrastructure-heavy alternatives.

With the international debut generating interest from the region, Revealtek is now in active discussions with badminton organisations in Vietnam and Indonesia. Both countries have expressed interest following local deployments. The company is also in talks with continental confederations with the aim of having Reveal Lens endorsed as a standard for member associations.
Beyond the instant review function, Revealtek is also developing an analytics module and a fully autonomous line calling system capable of replacing line judges entirely during matches. A demonstration is planned for an upcoming tournament in Australia in October.
