Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 Arrives 29 July with Remielle, Sigrid and Summer Event

Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1, titled The Long Goodbye, will go live on 29 July, coinciding with the game’s second anniversary. The update introduces the first Lumiflux attribute Agent, a new permanent game mode, a substantial anniversary reward package and the launch of the Xbox PC version of the game.
In the main story, representatives from New Eridu’s major factions converge on the island, where the Proxies unexpectedly reunite with Truvia, heiress of High Ambitions Corp and an old close friend whose past falling-out with the crew left a lasting mark on Pyrois. Elsewhere, Lindverne Sunbringer, Administrative Director of the Airspace Patrol Department, and her Deputy Director Sigrid make their formal introduction to the Proxies, while Remielle Dan resurfaces from an En-Nah Gang hideout alongside the gradual reveal of a powerful entity known as the Enchainer.
Remielle Dan is the headlining new character, joining as an S-Rank Lumiflux Anomaly Agent and the first of her attribute in the game. Her Attribute Flux mechanic syncs her damage output’s attribute to that of the next Agent in the squad, letting players adapt her element to enemy weaknesses by swapping teammates.
In combat, she accumulates resources to enter Phase Flow, providing continuous buffs to the squad without occupying field time, and descends to trigger a powerful Assist Attack when fully charged. The Lumiflux-exclusive reaction Refringe converts Anomaly Buildup into a high-burst explosion. Her Signal Search channel runs for the full duration of Version 3.1 rather than being restricted to one half.
The second half of the version introduces S-Rank Ice Attack Agent Sigrid, whose kit revolves around the Aerial Patrol Spear Form. Hitting enemies with Unbridled Spear skills enters this form, enabling an alternative held Basic Attack and significantly boosting CRIT Rate. The smoother the output rhythm, the higher the damage output. Returning in the first-half reruns is S-Rank Ether Anomaly Agent Aria.
The second half features an Exclusive Rescreening channel where Proxies can freely choose between Dialyn, Ukinami Yuzuha and Asaba Harumasa, with a corresponding W-Engine selection channel available as well. Signal Search data carries over for both rerun channels. New S-Rank Bangboo Ariel also makes her debut this version.
Version 3.1 launches a new permanent game mode called Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel. When the Labyrinth Carrot, a piece of equipment crafted by Joyous, attracts a large Ethereal and drags Eous into the depths of a Hollow, Proxies must venture in to mount a rescue. The mode tasks players with procuring supplies and enhancing strength before evacuating within a time limit, with collected supplies invested into research station infrastructure. Enigma of the Labyrinth runs on a seasonal update cycle sharing weekly progress with Hollow Zero, with exclusive seasonal rewards available each cycle.
The summer limited-time event Summer Waves Roll In launches alongside the update, joining Lucy, Sigrid and Remielle for beachcombing and souvenir shop management. Completing the main event storyline earns Lucy’s summer outfit Princess on Holiday for free. Five outfits in total are available this version: Vivian’s Iris of the Shore, Sigrid’s Majestic Wavechaser and Remielle’s Seashade Pas Seul and evening gown Moonlight Whispers, the latter available in both veiled and unveiled forms. Remielle’s two outfits are available as a discounted bundle at 30% off.
On the system side, Version 3.1 introduces a Custom Search mechanism letting Proxies pre-designate six S-Rank Agents from a combined limited and standard pool. When a non-rate-up S-Rank is pulled, the result draws from the selected pool with equal probability across each Agent. The same customisation applies to the corresponding W-Engine channel and A-Rank Signals, with settings persisting long-term and adjustable at any time. A redesigned Beginner’s Guide replaces the existing Proxy Trial, offering team composition recommendations, enhancement progression guidance and Polychrome acquisition guidance tailored to the Proxy’s current Inter-Knot level. Progress speed from Inter-Knot levels 20 to 50 has also been increased.
For anniversary rewards, all Proxies can freely select one of five limited S-Rank Agents from Jane, Soldier 0 Anby, Hugo, Trigger and Lucia, along with their corresponding exclusive W-Engine. Pyrois’s latest Mindscape and W-Engine overclocking materials will also be distributed during this period. Login rewards total 1,600 Polychromes, and the second-half check-in event The Great En-Nah Giveaway adds a further 10 Encrypted Master Tapes, bringing total pulls to 20 across the version.
The annual food collaboration event Operation Yum returns with Ellen and Manato, with real-world tie-ins including a partnership with Japanese ramen chain Kyuramen in the US and hotpot brand Haidilao in Singapore, offering themed meals and limited merchandise at both. Themed aesthetic exhibitions across multiple global regions have also been announced, showcasing concept design drafts and animation production materials publicly for the first time, with specific cities and dates to follow on official channels.
