Shopee Arrives on ChatGPT in Malaysia : A New Way to Search, Compare, and Shop Smarter

Starting today, users in Malaysia can access Shopee directly through ChatGPT. To get started, simply head to the ChatGPT Apps section and install the Shopee integration.

Once installed, you can choose to connect your Shopee account (or use the integration without signing in) and begin asking questions or searching for products directly within ChatGPT. This makes it easier to research products, compare options, and discover recommendations before proceeding to Shopee to complete your purchase.

In our brief testing, we asked ChatGPT for laptop recommendations suitable for students. The assistant was able to suggest relevant products, provide explanations for each recommendation, and help narrow down options based on the requirements provided.

At the moment, purchases are still completed through the Shopee app or website rather than directly within ChatGPT. Nevertheless, this marks an important first step towards deeper AI-powered commerce experiences. As OpenAI and Shopee continue to expand their partnership, we may see additional features, tighter integrations, and a more seamless shopping experience in the months ahead.
