Xiaomi Launches REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series in Malaysia, Starting From RM569

Xiaomi has launched the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 Series in Malaysia with two tablet variants: the standard REDMI Pad 2 9.7 and the REDMI Pad 2 9.7 4G. The latter being a more compact addition to the existing REDMI Pad 2 lineup.

Both tablets run on a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 Mobile Platform, a 6nm octa-core processor clocked at up to 2.9GHz. Xiaomi claims a 34% performance improvement over the previous generation alongside an AnTuTu score of over 400,000. The tablets ship with Xiaomi HyperOS 3, bringing Circle to Search support and Xiaomi Interconnectivity for shared clipboard functionality between compatible Xiaomi smartphones and tablets.

The 9.7-inch display runs at 2K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 600 nits of brightness in Outdoor mode and a wide colour gamut. Triple TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications are included. Battery capacity sits at 7,600mAh with Xiaomi quoting up to 1.7 days of use on a single charge.

Both models measure 7.4mm thin and come in Graphite Gray and Silver. The standard REDMI Pad 2 9.7 features a full metal unibody design, while the 4G variant gets an end-to-end strip running from top to bottom around the waterdrop-style camera module for a slightly more distinct look. Both are claimed to have passed over 40 durability tests.

Four configurations are available at launch, each coming with a complimentary REDMI Pad 2 9.7 cover. The standard REDMI Pad 2 9.7 is priced at RM569 for the 4GB and 64GB variant and RM599 for the 4GB and 128GB model. The 4G variant comes in at RM649 for 4GB and 64GB and RM699 for 4GB and 128GB.
