Apple has officially taken the wraps off the iPhone 17e, a more affordable entry into the iPhone 17 lineup. The new device features several new upgrades, including a newer chipset, MagSafe support, improved camera performance and 256GB of storage as the base offering.

At the centre of it all is the A19 chip, which is also the same processor from on the base iPhone 17 model. Paired with it is the new C1X modem, Apple’s latest in house effort, which is said to be up to twice as fast as the C1 found in last year’s 16e while sipping less power in the process.
The iPhone 17e sticks with a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, now protected by Ceramic Shield 2. Around the back is a 48MP Fusion camera that also delivers optical quality 2x telephoto photos, essentially giving you two focal lengths without needing a second physical lens.
Fast charging charges the phone up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes. MagSafe is now supported as well, along with Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W, so the ecosystem of snap on wallets, stands and chargers remains fully intact.

The iPhone 17e is available in black, white and a soft pink, with storage options starting at 256GB and going up to 512GB. In Malaysia, pricing starts at RM2,999. Pre orders open at 10:15PM on March 4, with general availability beginning March 11.
