Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.6 Arrives 6 February with Sunna, Aria and Gilded Carrot Day Events

Following the high point of Season 2’s main storyline, Zenless Zone Zero is slowing things down slightly with Version 2.6, “Encore for an Old Dream”, which arrives on 6 February. Framed as an interlude chapter, the update brings Proxies back to the familiar streets of Sixth Street, tying its narrative to themes of dreams, love, and performance as New Eridu gears up for its annual Gilded Carrot Day celebrations.

Version 2.6 mixes story progression with new characters, events, and a generous slate of rewards. Headlining the update are two new Agents, Sunna and Aria, alongside festive activities that include an Inter-Knot Membership event and lucky draws offering a chance to share in a massive 4 billion Polychrome prize pool.

Narratively, the update pulls the Phaethon siblings into an urgent commission involving an illegal intelligent entity, once again crossing paths with Jane Doe on Sixth Street. Despite the looming threat, the holiday atmosphere is very much alive, extending to the iconic 404 Error music venue. Here, the spotlight falls on Angels of Delusion, an up-and-coming group preparing for their first live performance under the guidance of a mysterious vocal coach.

Sunna and Aria are the first Angels of Delusion members to take the stage as playable Agents in Version 2.6. Sunna, an S-Rank Physical Support, is built around empowering Attack and Anomaly teammates. Her companion, Bubblegum, marks enemies with Cat’s Gaze, which can be detonated for damage while granting powerful Attack buffs to the entire squad. Her Ultimate delivers a heavy burst of damage with her oversized hammer and smoothly transitions the team back into combat via Quick Assist.

Joining her is Aria, the group’s lead vocalist and an Ether Anomaly agent with two distinct forms: a construct form and an idol projection. Aria specialises in high burst damage against enemies affected by Attribute Anomalies, using charged attacks to pressure enemies head-on. Supporting the group is Bangboo Biggest Fan, whose passive encouragement steadily restores HP and boosts Attack when at least two Angels of Delusion members are in the squad.

Both Sunna and Aria will receive brand-new outfits, with Aria’s costume standing out thanks to its unique dual-form design. Version 2.6 will also see the return of Yixuan (Auric Ink – Rupture) and Yuzuha (Physical – Support) in rerun banners, giving players another chance to pick up these S-Rank Agents.

The main event for this update, “A Harmony of Delusions”, puts Proxies behind the scenes as support staff for Angels of Delusion. Players will manage training schedules, social media activities, and guide the group’s rise through rhythm-based gameplay. The event also expands the Marcel Adventure with new maps and mechanics, adding more variety to the experience.

Outside of the festivities, Version 2.6 introduces meaningful gameplay updates. Hollow Zero gains a new mode, Operation Matrix, featuring weekly rotating themed stages with unique mechanics. Teams will now consist of three Primary Agents, one Bangboo, and one Auxiliary Agent, alongside new Resonia and agent-specific Gears that deepen build and strategy options. A new Sweep function has also been added to streamline progression and make repeated runs more efficient.

Rounding things out are balance updates and rewards. Lycaon and Harumasa receive enhancements, while Pan Yinhu gets a new outfit available through a limited-time event. To mark Gilded Carrot Day, a special Inter-Knot Membership event allows players to earn Polychrome through daily activities, including a 3,300 Polychrome login reward. From February 14 to February 23, the event “Gilded Surprise, Wonderful Boo-ns” offers daily lucky draws, with players standing a chance to share in the 4 billion Polychrome prize pool.

Beyond the game itself, HoYoverse is also launching a global fan initiative titled “Sugar Rush: Cuteness Saves the World” to celebrate Angels of Delusion’s debut. The campaign will include regional collaborations, offline events, and themed activities, with exclusive merchandise such as towels, light sticks, and T-shirts up for grabs.
