ChatGPT Will Start Showing Ads to Free and Go Users

So far, users of ChatGPT’s AI services have not been shown any advertisements, regardless of whether they are on the free tier or a paid plan. However, OpenAI has recently announced that two tiers of ChatGPT users will begin seeing ads in the coming weeks. This includes free ChatGPT users as well as those subscribed to the ChatGPT Go plan.

Typically, digital and online advertising relies on tracking users’ online behavior to deliver more targeted ads. OpenAI, however, says that the ads shown on ChatGPT will not be influenced by users’ activity or usage patterns within the ChatGPT service.

OpenAI also stated that it will not track how users interact with ChatGPT for advertising purposes, and users will be able to reset any collected data at any time once the advertising feature goes live.
