In a surprising move, Astro has announced via its official website that it will halt new sales and subscriber acquisitions for Astro Fibre, effective February 1, 2026, until further notice. The company said the decision was made following a strategic review of its business.

Astro emphasized that existing customers, as well as those who sign up before February 1, 2026, will continue to receive full service as usual, including customer support.
With this move, it remains unclear whether Astro plans to return to the broadband business in the future. Previously, Astro offered bundled internet and content packages starting at RM139.99 per month, which included 500Mbps broadband access alongside Astro’s content offerings.
Astro remains committed to serving and supporting all customers of Astro Fibre, ensuring you continue to enjoy fast, reliable connectivity and a seamless experience.
As part of a strategic review of our businesses, Astro intends to stop new sales and subscriber acquisitions for Astro Fibre effective 1 February 2026 until further notice.
There will be no impact to existing customers, including those who sign up before 1 February 2026. Astro will continue to provide full-service assurance, including restoration, relocation, and ongoing customer support.
