Apple Pay Now Available for Hong Leong Bank Customers in Malaysia

Apple Pay is now supported for Hong Leong Bank customers, joining the growing list of participating banks in Malaysia. These include AmBank (Mastercard and Visa credit cards), HSBC, Maybank (American Express, Mastercard, and Visa credit and debit cards), RHB Bank Berhad (Visa credit and debit cards), Standard Chartered Bank (Mastercard and Visa credit cards), as well as Wise Payments Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

According to Hong Leong Bank’s official website, all Visa cards issued by Hong Leong Bank (HLB) and Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLISB) are compatible with Apple Pay, with the exception of HLB GSC Credit Cards (Gold & Platinum) and HLB debit cardholders under the age of 16. Updates regarding Apple Pay support for HLB GSC Credit Cards will be announced at a later date.

To start using Apple Pay, users need to set it up on their iPhone by opening the Apple Wallet app, tapping the add (+) button, and selecting either Debit or Credit Card. Follow the on-screen instructions to add a new card. Next, log in to the Hong Leong Bank app, select the desired card, and activate Apple Pay. Finally, follow the remaining on-screen steps to complete the setup — after which Apple Pay will be ready for use.
