Genshin Impact Version Luna III Arrives 3 December with Hexerei Characters, Durin and Jahoda

HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version Luna III: Song of the Welkin Moon — Interlude, A Nocturne of the Far North will arrive on 3 December, continuing Nod-Krai’s storyline as the region prepares for Moon-Prayer Night.
The festival marks a moment of celebration for its people and the Dameselette’s final night before her journey to the moon. The update also introduces Durin, the newborn dragon, as a new playable 5-star character.
Following the fall of Rächer of Solnari, Nasha Town begins returning to life, with travellers invited to explore the revived community, participate in game stalls and collect memories in a souvenir stamp book as the streets ready for the grand festival.
But while Moon-Prayer Night sets the stage for joy, unexpected visitors soon arrive. The Hexenzirkel finally step into the spotlight as Alice, the ever-elusive mother of Klee, appears together with Nicole Reeyn, who guided players through the mysteries of Fontaine’s prophecy.
Both reveal troubling news: Teyvat’s borders are becoming unstable, and strange “phantoms” have begun manifesting across Nod-Krai. To understand their origin, players will work alongside Albedo, Durin and the Wanderer as the lunar tensions deepen.
Durin himself joins the roster as a 5-star Pyro Sword wielder with an unusual background. Once a dragon from the fairytale world of Simulanka, he now inhabits a human body created through Albedo’s alchemy and the transfer of the original dragon Durin’s heart energy.
His dual heritage gives him two distinct combat styles: one reflecting the pure soul of Simulanka, offering AoE Pyro damage and reducing enemy Elemental Resistance, and another channeling Abyssal energy to deliver high single-target damage while strengthening Vaporize and Melt reactions.
A major feature of Version Luna III is the introduction of Hexerei characters, which grants special enhancements to characters closely associated with the Hexenzirkel. By completing Alice’s “Witch’s Homework,” characters such as Durin, Venti, Klee, Albedo, Mona, Razor, Fischl and Sucrose can awaken new abilities and modified Constellation effects unique to the Hexerei system.
Forming a team with at least two of these enhanced characters unlocks “Hexerei: Secret Rite,” which significantly boosts overall party performance. Venti, in particular, regains additional strength befitting his status as the Anemo Archon.
During Stormeye, his Normal Attacks become “Windsunder Arrows” that can pierce through foes and potentially extend Stormeye’s duration. All enhancement details can be viewed in a new in-game gadget, The Little Witch’s Dictionary.
Version Luna III will also introduce Jahoda, a new 4-star Anemo Bow character who specialises in team healing and Element absorption. As for Event Wishes, the first phase will debut Durin alongside Jahoda and Venti, while the second phase brings back Varesa and Xilonen.
The update includes a variety of events as well, including Soulblazers’ Snowbound Journey, which sends players back to Dragonspine for winter-themed mini-games and the chance to earn rewards such as the exclusive 4-star Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow, Primogems and more.
Meanwhile, the user-generated content module, Miliastra Wonderland. is expanding with a new Wonderland Resource Center, allowing creators to share and access assets built using its editing tools. Additional actions, expressions and free pulls can also be unlocked through the updated system.
