DJI Osmo Action 6 Lands in Malaysia: Variable Aperture and Upgraded Sensor From RM2,079

Just days after its debut in China, the DJI Osmo Action 6 has officially arrived in Malaysia. DJI’s latest action cam brings several meaningful upgrades, but the headline feature is its variable aperture. It’s the first action camera to offer this, giving creators more control over exposure in tricky lighting scenarios.

The Osmo Action 6 is built around a new 1/1.1-inch square sensor capable of capturing 7168 × 5376 images with a wide 155° field of view. The variable aperture switches between f/2.0 and f/4.0, while the camera’s Super Night Mode pushes ISO up to 51,200 for low-light shooting.

Video tops out at 4K/120fps, with 2.7K/120fps and 1080p/240fps also available for smooth slow-motion. DJI’s RockSteady 3.0 and HorizonSteady continue to do the heavy lifting when it comes to stabilisation and horizon levelling, helping maintain clean, usable footage even in chaotic shooting conditions.

The Osmo Action 6 is waterproof up to 20 metres without a case, and up to 60 metres when paired with DJI’s underwater housing. A larger 1950mAh battery promises up to 240 minutes of runtime, making it far more practical for longer sessions.

A new 4K Custom Mode lets users reframe the same clip in multiple aspect ratios for different platforms, while native 4K/120fps slow motion and up to 32x super slow motion (1080p) offer more creative options. The camera can withstand extreme conditions too, operating down to -20°C, and charges rapidly to 80% in just 22 minutes.

DJI has also added 50GB of internal storage as a safety net for when your memory card is full, along with gesture control and subject tracking for hands-free recording. For vloggers, the variable aperture helps achieve more natural-looking selfie footage, and the new Natural Wide FOV reduces distortion for wider travel shots.

For audio, the Osmo Action 6 integrates into the OsmoAudio ecosystem, letting the camera pair with up to two DJI wireless mics (Mic 2, Mic 3 or Mic Mini) for interviews, ambient capture or voice-over work.

The DJI Osmo Action 6 is priced at RM2,079 for the Standard Combo, while the Adventure Combo goes for RM2,569 and includes two extra batteries, an additional mount, a battery case, and a 1.5 meter extension rod.
