Microsoft Announces Strategic Partnership With Anthropic, Invests Up to $5 Billion

Microsoft today announced a major strategic partnership with Anthropic, which includes an investment of up to $5 billion in the AI company. Anthropic, known for its Claude AI models which is widely regarded as one of OpenAI’s closest competitors, with its technology used extensively by developers worldwide.

Alongside Microsoft’s announcement, it was also revealed that NVIDIA will invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic.

Anthropic, in turn, has committed to purchasing up to $30 billion worth of computing capacity from Microsoft. In addition, Microsoft confirmed it will continue offering Claude access across services such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other Microsoft platforms.

This partnership marks one of the largest AI investment collaborations to date, further intensifying competition in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
