Apple has unveiled the latest 14-inch MacBook Pro, now powered by the new M5 chip. This refresh brings improved performance, faster graphics, enhanced AI capabilities, and longer battery life — while retaining the same familiar design and premium build that defines Apple’s Pro lineup.

The new M5 chip introduces a next-generation 10-core GPU featuring a Neural Accelerator built into each core, resulting in up to 3.5x faster AI performance and 1.6x faster graphics compared to the M4 model. It also packs a 10-core CPU that Apple claims delivers up to 20% faster multithreaded performance, making it ideal for professionals juggling multiple creative or productivity applications.

Paired with 153GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, users can now work with large AI models directly on-device or handle massive 3D scenes with ease. Apple also touts the M5’s ability to run large language models locally, offering improved on-device AI performance without relying on cloud resources.

Storage speeds have been improved too, and users can now configure the MacBook Pro with up to a 4TB SSD — a capacity previously reserved for higher-end Pro variants. Despite the hardware upgrades, battery life remains one of the notebook’s strongest suits, with Apple claiming up to 24 hours of use on a single charge.

Running on macOS Tahoe, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro maintains its familiar design and high-end features. It sports the same Liquid Retina XDR display, port layout (including three Thunderbolt 4 ports), a 12-megapixel Center Stage webcam, six-speaker sound system, and aluminum chassis. The new model continues to be available in space black and silver finishes.

In Malaysia, the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 starts at RM6,999, equipped with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory, and a 512GB SSD. A fully maxed-out configuration goes up to RM14,519. Pre-orders for the local market should be commencing soon.
