Instagram Might Be Considering Dedicated TV App

Meta may not be giving up on bringing its social platforms to the biggest screen in your home. After previously experimenting with Facebook Video for TV, which was eventually discontinued, the company now appears to be exploring a similar path — this time with Instagram.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri confirmed that the team is looking into ways to bring Instagram Reels to TV, though he added that the company has no plans to license sports or premium entertainment content. The idea is to let users watch Instagram videos — including Reels and other clips — directly on their television, transforming the living room into an extension of the Instagram experience. If launched, it could serve as Meta’s alternative to YouTube TV and TikTok TV, both of which have become popular destinations for big-screen video viewing.
With over 3 billion monthly active users, Instagram’s next frontier may be the TV screen — expanding beyond phones and tablets to ensure its massive audience can engage with creators and content anywhere, on any device.
