BYD Sime Motors has officially unveiled the BYD SEAL 6 EV in Malaysia, marking the sedan’s first international debut. The SEAL 6 EV is offered in two trims: Dynamic and Premium, priced at RM100,000 and RM115,800 respectively.

Measuring 4,720mm long with a 2,820mm wheelbase, the SEAL 6 EV the largest sedan in its class. Power comes from a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing up to 160kW and 330Nm, enabling 0–100km/h in 7.5 seconds with rear-wheel drive as standard.

A 56.64kWh Blade Battery provides a driving range of up to 485km on the NEDC cycle. The SEAL 6 EV supports a maximum DC fast charging rate of 100 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 30% to 80% in just 23 minutes. For Type 2 AC charging, the maximum rate is 6.67 kW.

Suspension hardware is another highlight, as the SEAL 6 EV is the first BYD model to feature a dual ball-joint MacPherson strut front setup paired with a multi-link rear. Together with balanced weight distribution and a turning radius of 5.5m, BYD promises refined ride quality and agile handling.

Inside, the cabin blends premium materials with practical touches, offering 24 storage compartments and a total of 525 litres of cargo space. A 12.8-inch intelligent touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes standard, while the Premium variant adds features like ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker system, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and wireless charging.

Safety is addressed with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and a 360-degree camera. Both variants come with front, side, and curtain airbags, as well as BYD’s regenerative braking system and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability.

Early adopters will benefit from an exclusive launch package worth up to RM6,288, including a complimentary wall charger or doorstep charging services depending on residence type. A V2L adapter and Type 2 charging cable are also included. Warranty coverage extends to six years or 150,000km for the vehicle, with eight years or 160,000km for the drive unit and Blade Battery.

The BYD SEAL 6 EV is being offered with an exclusive launch package worth RM6,288 for the first 800 customers. Those living in landed properties will receive a complimentary wall charger valued at RM3,288 together with a launch rebate of RM3,000.

For high-rise residents, the Sime Platinum 4+ by Power Up doorstep charging programme is valid for 12 months and is worth RM5,000. This package includes four mobile doorstep charging sessions or two car washes per month, along with two complimentary EV rescue charging services a year, plus a launch rebate of RM1,000.

Every buyer will also receive a V2L adapter and a Type 2 three-pin plug charging cable as standard. In terms of coverage, the Seal 6 EV is backed by a six-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an eight-year/100,000 km drive unit warranty, while the Blade battery is covered for eight years or 160,000 km.
